ACCORD STUDIO WORKSHOPS

Saturday, May 14 and Saturday, May 21 2022

The 1 day workshop begins at 10:00am with coffee/tea and a general description of the 2 wood firing kilns that the artist Jeff Shapiro uses for his work. We will discuss loading, glazing, and firing options for the wood kilns. The remainder of the morning will be comprised of discourse, demonstrations, and then participants will begin working with 5 pounds of clay from the studio to make a single piece for the firing. Shapiro will work with participants to help them realize and complete their ideas in clay. This is not a firing workshop. Neither of the kilns will be fired during the workshop, but people may visit during the firing at a later date.

Hinako will prepare lunch, and there may be a discussion about the relationship of food and vessel. The afternoon will be utilized to complete the piece started in the morning. The day ends at 4:00pm with a final discussion and tea.

Cost of the workshop $185.00
